Our lodge is one of the original ten De Vere timeshare development projects, a bungalow situated on the Hunting Golf Course, set within a rural background with plenty of wildlife to be seen as well as golfers approaching the 6th green! Completely refurbished and updated at the end of last year, it consists of the following accommodation: En-suite master bedroom Twin bedroom en-suite Twin bedroom across from bathroom with sauna Double sofa bed in lounge- with access to above bathroom Large lounge seating 8 Dining for 8 within open modern kitchen Utility room with access to back door Large vestibule with cloakroom facilities As would be expected of a 4* Luxury Lodge, it is furnished with: A fully equipped kitchen including electric oven/hob, microwave, 2 fridges, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is also a large TV, DVD and sound system, free Wifi, telephone, bed linen and towels supplied. A golf buggy is provided free for the week and on site parking for 3 cars. Excellent services are provided by Housekeeping and Maintenance staff. Timeshare ownership gives access to the hotel and golf facilities – 2 championship golf courses with reduced fees, leisure facilities, gym, swimming pool complex, spa, pool table, outdoor facilities centre, walking itineraries, restaurants, ‘welcome’ invites. Ownership also enables you to use the ‘Owners Exchange’ system whereby it is possible to exchange your week for one in other De Vere resorts, namely Cameron House, The Carrick, Belton Woods or indeed a different week at Slaley Hall. Places to visit/eat nearby are well listed in the lodge’s manual, however the following are worthy of note! - Hexham, an interesting market town, also has supermarkets (Tesco delivers online shopping to the resort, handy to know in advance!) Plenty of good restaurants –Danielle’s Bistro and Tap and Spile nearby for real ales! - Newcastle, cultural places, also, The Metro Centre…….Christmas shopping! - Corbridge, historical town with quaint boutiques. Waltons, hardware/cook shop shop is a treasure and a MUST to visit…across from the Black Bull….ex bar lunches. - Open Air Museum at Beamish, a brilliant visit to the past. - Alnwick Castle, fascinating Tree House and activities for children. - Blanchland, dates back to 1214 and the establishment of an Abbey. - The Lord Crewe Arms hotel was once the Abbot’s lodge - Hadrian’s Wall, Chesters Fort/museum is within easy travelling distance We have had 11 wonderful years at our lodge and it is with reluctance that we are now selling due to health problems and a change of travel direction. Tenerife now calls us for the winter/ heat helps with rheumatism! We found week 49 a great time to be at Slaley, enabling us to meet up with family and friends we couldn’t manage to see at Christmas. So, great seasonal celebrations beforehand with the opportunity of writing Christmas cards /shopping for last minute presents/ and the unique chance at this busy time, to have a night or two to ourselves!
