Set in a 1000 acre estate in glorious countryside. It has two 18 hole golf courses and plenty of adventure facilities. You have the use of the hotel, including pool, gym, beauty treatments, and restaurant and bar facilities not forgetting the fantastic golf facilities. (Some of these facilities may incur charges). If going for long walks is your desire this can be done around the fabulous estate. Lodge 33 is situated in a beautifully elevated position. Stand in the lounge window or on the balcony and you can see for miles and miles across the beautiful Northumbria countryside. It is superbly equipped with top of the range electrical goods, crockery, glassware etc with 3 bedrooms (2 en-suites), large lounge and spacious kitchen, dining area, sauna, Jacuzzi. The kitchen boasts a dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, electric ceramic hob and full size electric oven. In the lounge you have top of the range TV and CD player, DVD, Sky TV is also available, outside you have a Golf Buggy for your exclusive use on the estate for your entire stay, at no extra cost. All bedding, towels etc are supplied, including in the master bedroom two fluffy white bathrobes. Our week is towards the end of October when the autumn leaves are at their best. The advantage of having a Gold week is that you can turn that into a two week holiday if you wish, or a ten day holiday depending on the time of year. Your car plus two others can be parked by the lodge, no walking to a parking area. Gold season weeks you are able to exchange (an admin fee is payable) to any time period, at any De Vere Resort, you can also turn it into short breaks. You are able to invite friends or family or even rent it out, the week is yours to use as you please. Slaley, Hexham and Corbridge form a triangle of roughly 5 mile sides. To us this triangle forms our base for the week. Hexham is quite a large busy, modern town with all the facilities of supermarkets, shops, an old Abbey and lots of history. Corbridge is a small town of entirely different character. The Roman Fort, the ancient Church, Pele Tower and old town bridge over the beautiful river Tyne along with good quality small shops, tea rooms etc. gives it an old world charm. No large supermarkets or retail parks. If you want retail therapy then Newcastle/Gateshead is only 30 minutes away and is a beautiful and interesting city. And, of course, Hadrian’s Wall is very accessible if spectacular history is your thing. The Northumbrian coast is in easy driving distance, if you haven’t experienced the beautiful white sands of the North East, now’s the time. Newcastle airport is only 30 minutes drive.
