All eyes will be on Arizona on February 1st 2015 as over 100 million viewers around the world tune in for Super Bowl XLIX (49) to see the East-West clash between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
Led by Quarterback Tom Brady this will be New England’s sixth Super Bowl appearance since he joined the team fourteen years ago racking up three wins in that time. Look out for over-the-air touchdowns from wide-receiver Julian Edelman and tight-end Rob Gronkowski whilst running the ball into the end zone could be LaGarrette Blount or Shane Vereen as the Patriots employ a “timeshare” system (yep that really is what they call it) when it comes to sharing carries among their running backs.
Reigning champions Seattle were, until recent years, the underdogs of the NFL yet with a formidable defence and running attack led by Marshawn Lynch they scraped in to this years final after two nail-biting play off games. Watch out for Quaterback Russell Wilson who often takes off successfully scrambling with the ball for long gains.
Whilst both teams are used to playing in bitterly cold conditions this time of year, temperatures often reach the early 20’s °C in February so it won’t just be the pressure of the game heating up the field on match day in Phoenix!
Hosting the event for the third time (1996 & 2008) in its history, Arizona may have a dry climate but it’s bursting with life and holiday opportunities. From the magnificent landscape of the Grand Canyon in the North to the city of Tucson in the South, Arizona is waiting to entertain the world. So, as the East and West Coasts prepare to do battle on the biggest stage in the U.S.A let’s take a look at two of the RCI and II affiliated timeshare resorts currently available on the resale market.
Arizona – Touching down is only the start “to your holiday”

Arizona is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Grand Canyon National Park and as one of the most photographed locations in the U.S, its an opportunity not to miss. Built back in the 1930’s and taming nearly 2.5 million cubic metres of water from the Colorado River, the impressive Hoover Dam is a must-see during any trip to Arizona and is located on the border with Nevada to the North-West. Weaving 400 miles through the North of this sunny state is the historic Route 66, one of the most famous roads in the world, it connects Chicago in the East to Los Angeles in the West and is globally recognisable, particularly for its road signs!
If you’re in Phoenix on a game day then do try and get tickets. NFL Games are family friendly events with fans from both sides mixing together for pre-game food and shenanigans in the stadiums car park (known as tailgating) before heading into the stadium for the game.
Down-town Phoenix offers something for everyone from Majerle’s Restaurant for tasty food, Roosevelt Row for the best in art & culture Arizona has to offer to the family fun of the Arizona Science Centre that provides interactive exhibits to explore for all ages!
