Aldea Bonsai has a fine location near the seafront in the quieter part of Santa Eulàlia des Riu in the verdant eastern coast of the party island of Ibiza. A quieter resort, it is well positioned to the south of the town centre, yet within easy reach of its pretty beaches and the trappings of this chilled out resort.

This safe and secure timeshare complex appeals mainly to couples and families looking to be away from the main areas of the famous island. It garners favourable reviews on top review websites, such as having a fine pool and fantastic setting, and the look and feel of a small hamlet.

It has traditional looking, Ibiza-styled, apartments—almost cubist by design—arranged around a large pool area and with landscaped gardens typical of the Mediterranean out front. Units, though with minimalist decor, come with satellite TV and feature modern appliances in the kitchenette to include hob and microwave oven.

The fully furnished apartments also feature balconies and terraces (on the ground floor) with double bedroom and bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge area. Units are air-conditioned and the lounge also has a sofa bed for extra guests. Inner apartments look out over the pools, one of which is a paddling pool for young tots. A café/restaurant serves Ibizan goodies as well as international foods.

The beaches of Santa Eulàlia are just across a short pedestrian bridge right out front and you can walk to the southern beach in minutes. Santa Eulàlia’s main beach is a little farther north and even that rarely gets busy. Traditional water sports can be enjoyed at both, and boat trips go along the coast and to Formentera.

The beach and harbour area are well supplied with restaurants and tourist shops. There is also a bit of sightseeing nearby, with the Puig D'Missa church set on a hill overlooking town being a top hiking spot. Farther north is the chilled out beach resort of Es Canar.

Many rent a car and explore the rest of the island. Ibiza Town is just 20 minutes by road, for instance, with its great shopping and funky old town for sightseeing. For ravers, there is always transport laid on to Ibiza Town and across to San Antonio for enjoying the big clubs. The airport is just 25 minutes by car, taxi or shuttle bus.
